Norah Sporties Roof Replacement
A leaking roof on a commercial building is never just an inconvenience — it’s a serious risk to the people inside, the business operating beneath it, and the building itself. This was the reality facing the Norah Head Sporties Club, – the roof had been leaking for several years, and despite numerous attempts to locate and repair the source of the leaks, nothing had worked.
The Scope of Work
AWS Roofing was brought in to completely replace the roof and given the scale and complexity of the building, the project required careful planning and coordination. The scope of work included:
- Full removal of the existing commercial roofing
- Removal and safe reinstallation of 81 of solar panels
- Careful management and protection of 3 commercial air conditioning units
- Replacement of the main box gutter
- Full installation of new metal roofing and guttering
The Challenges
Commercial roofing projects of this scale come with a level of complexity that goes well beyond a standard residential re-roof. The solar panels needed to be carefully removed, stored, and reinstated without damage to ensure they continued operating correctly after the job was complete. The commercial air conditioning units required careful management throughout to avoid disruption to the venue. And replacing the main box gutter — a critical component in managing water runoff on a building of this size — required precision to ensure the entire system worked together seamlessly.
The Final Result
Since the new roof was installed, the Norah Head Sporties Club has had no further leaks. The venue now has a weather-tight, modern metal roof with a properly functioning gutter system, reinstated solar panels, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing the building is properly protected for years to come.
